Car accident injuries forced Rutgers junior Micheal Hennix to take school more seriously.

Hennix had to endure two years of physical therapy and two knee surgeries.

During this period, Hennix used this time to reflect on what he was going to do with his future, he said.

He re-enrolled at Rutgers last fall and is now more focused than ever.

Last semester he earned a 4.0, something that he’s never accomplished in his academic career, he said.

Prior to the accident Hennix worked nights at various clubs as a promoter.

The busy lifestyle of a party promoter left no time for studying, Hennix said.

“It’s never too late to take school seriously and change bad habits," Hennix said. "I still love to party, but partying and fun aren’t the priorities in my life that they once were."
