For aspiring soldier, Ben Homa, his first trip paintballing introduced him to an exciting venture.
The adventure of paintballing was his first glimpse of war and trauma. “Once I got over getting hit with a paintball, I enjoyed the thrill of combat,” he says.
During eighth grade, Homa went along with friends to Paintball Depot in West Milford, N.J. As they approached, “I was feeling anxious because I heard getting hit hurts,” says Homa.
They split into groups, learned how to use the equipment, and began the battle. “The whistle blew, we ambushed five enemies, and their flag was captured,” Homa recalls.
Returning towards their home base, paintballs flew across the field, hitting Homa’s behind. “The shot stung like hell, but I didn’t feel pain as we celebrated our victory,” he said. |
