'ROOM' A WINDOW TO SOUL
"Room" is a window to the soul, reviewer says.

“Room,” based off of the novel by Emma Donoghue, is an exhilarating and capturing film about a mother (Brie Larson) that is kidnapped for 7 years of her life, and impregnated by her kidnapper.

The mother is forced to raise her child (Jacob Tremblay) in the shed that she is forced to live in, which the son refers to as "Room." The director, Lenny Abrahamson did an incredible job conquering the emotions and story-line of this book. Brie Larson even took home an Oscar for Room as best actress in a leading role.

This movie captured the emotion of the son and the mother connection. The presence of love and sacrifice from the mother is raw and real and Larson captures the role of a young, disturbed mother that would do anything for her son. The captivating moments in the movie were directed incredibly and the audience is able to see how much work is put in for each scene.

Upon their break free from Room, the mother is faced with the after-effects of coming home after being gone for 7 years, and coming to realize her son has been traumatized in Room, thinking that everything else other then the things in Room are not real.

The part of the child was executed so well from Tremblay. He embodied the soul of a child who truly believed that Room was a real thing. His voiceovers in the movie of his explanation of the world really made the difference in seeing him become acquainted with the real work and truly feeling for the child.

This movie embodies a raw mother and son relationship. You see the mother make decisions for her son and herself but also see the son make decisions for his mother. Room has become a part of their lives, and in this film, the audience is able to see Room becoming apart of their lives in their "real world."

The scenes involving the child actually missing the room were also well written. You see the kid struggling to grasp his reality from real reality. He is lost when he is without "Room" and his mother because that is all he has known. The movie really captures imagination and what goes on in the child’s head.

The acting and the filming this movie is truly cinematic and captures every important detail. All the little things are taken in to account, such those details involving Room itself, but also the feeling of being in "Room" and not being in the room anymore. The atmosphere changes and it captured amazingly on film.

This film was inspirational, and was written and produced wonderfully. All the actors played their parts to perfection and truly showed what it was like to be in Room and their lives after it. You will feel apart of the emotional connection of the mother and the son. I highly encourage anyone to sit down and watch this incredible drama.
